Carole was a good friend of mine in Junior High and high school. She was always very gracious, generous and had a very good sense of humor. She cared about her friends deeply. I remember the day she got her license she came to pick me up in her Mom's new 1967 Caprice and we went cruisin' down the strip. I remember she was very involved in her church group and invited me to several events which were always very fun. God bless Carole's family and friends she left behind with sweet memories of her.
Carole was my roommate in college before she transferred to San Diego State to be with her fiance, Larry Roberts, class of 1968. She was a great girl - fun loving and caring for others.
Carole died at the very young age of 50 of a brain tumor. She left behind 3 children and her husband of nearly 30 years.
Carole was the very first person I met when we all moved into Beaumont Estates right before we started kindergarten at Thomas Jefferson. We played together endlessly. I was so enamored with her piano that I finally convinced my parents I had to have one too. I remember Carole's Valentine's Day wedding to Larry at the Methodist Church. I hope if Carole's mom is still alive that someone will let her know how much I admired her. I think Carole and I had the only two working moms I knew. Mrs. Marston was a home ec teacher and I am sure her students worshipped her!
Carol Marston, Carolyn Capps, Sue Strehlo, Sandy Seghetti, (who has sadly also passed) and I all lived on or near School Street in San Leandro growing up. We all went to Thomas Jefferson all our elementary years, were in the same Brownie and Girl Scout troops, Sue's mom (Gray Owl) was the leader!! We had so many happy occasions at Carol's house for pj parties, etc.
So sad to hear of her untimely passing.
I heard of Carole's passing a few years ago from Jane Urish. I have great memories of Carole through our years at Thomas Jefferson Elementary, Brownies/Girl Scouts, junior high, and high school. Carole was always a fun, positive friend. I remember the giggles mostly. I'm glad I had the opportunity of knowing and laughing with Carole. Sharon O'Neal Sevy
