What a shock about George! He was the first guy I went steady with in the 9th grade. For our graduation from Bancroft he bought me the Whipped Cream album and I played it till it wore out. I was really looking foward to telling him I feel like I've come full circle: a trombone player for my first boyfried and then I end up marrying a trombone player!

Besides being fellow 1969 classmates, George and I were first cousins. My memories as a kid were climbing in their cherry trees on Pala Avenue and George and his brother Bob always having a car in pieces in the garage. Sadly, George passed away just before his 50th birthday from sleep apnea. What a great loss to his children and family.

My memories of George are mostly about four speeds, four barrel carbs and 4.11 rear ends; 64 Impala SS - tore the rear end up popping the cluth at about 4,000 rpm; 69 Chevelle SS 396 - the sripes on the freeway turned to a solid line one night. We had alot of fun with cars, and many other things as well.
