Keta was a warm friendly person. I always kidded her about her Dad's pickle factory. I hear she was a great athlete, back in the day when girls did not have a lot of opportunity to showcase their talent.

I remember Keta from GAA and various classes we shared. She had a quiet sense of humor that I appreciated. Her sweet smile will be greatly missed. I am glad to have known her. Sharon O'Neal Sevy

I first met Keta in Mrs. Reynolds’ 4th grade class at McKinley school and we were friends until the day she died in 2002. Once we got to High School, I remember her picking us all up for school in her brother’s souped up 56 Chevy. Keta lived a block from school and I lived two blocks from school. After picking everyone up, she’d park the car at the back entrance of the school off of Bradhoff. Gee, we probably walked farther than if we’d started at home!

Our children were very close in age and there were many memorable outings with the kids. The last being an Easter Vacation trip where she and the three kids came to Pennsylvania and we showed them Philadelphia, New York City and Washington DC. This was in the mid 90s when Keta had just started teaching and I think she went home with two boxes of History books that she found in all the museum shops. The five kids would just groan when they saw her heading for another book shop!

Keta was the one that pushed all of us to attend the 30th reunion, even though we didn’t want to. Her comment was, “well you’ll never have another 30th reunion”!. I’m very glad I flew out, because us girls had a great time. The night before the reunion, we even had pizza at Pee Wee’s Pizza for old time sake.

Keta was the best friend a person could ever have and I will miss her always.
