I remember Jesse from 8th grade PE ... 4th period, Mr. Franz.
Jesse could look like a tough guy, but he never was with me. He was always friendly, once I decided to actually have a conversation with him! ... those who let that "tough guy first impression" take over their own perceptions really missed out; he was a nice guy, kind and smart.
Sorry to count him among those who have passed on, from our class.
