Wilma Gebhardt Stanton

I have had a full life in these past 40 years. I got married in 1977 to a guy I met at the Port O Call Servicemen's center which was in Castro Valley then.I made many strong relationships there that I still have to this day...great people that are like sisters and brothers to me(altho I still have 5 siblings who are supportive too).
Sense I had to have a hystorectamy in 1976 I knew I would have to adopt kids. My husband also could not have kids so we were a good match.
The first time we adopted a child the mom came back 2 months later and took him back. She was a very confused girl and we didn't use a good lawyer at the time.
Then we heard about a boy who was 8 1/2 yr old who the family didn't want to keep.A mutual friend to both us and his stepmom arranged for us to adopt him. Then 6 months later we got a baby from a friend of the family.
The boys are both very close and it has been a wonderful journey with them.
Since my husband died my youngest son has lived with me and we are helping each other.
We miss him alot. Mike could fix anything around the house and we sure feel that loss too.
But the Lord has been good to me and I am moving along and taken 2 part time jobs keeping very busy.
Looking forward to see everyone Sat. at the reunion...hope I remember many of you....senior moments can be often ...haha...later, Wilma
